Getting to the Venue

The Games are a major event with thousands of attendees expected. Please plan your journey in advance and allow extra time for travel and parking.


Public Transport (Recommended)

Public transport is the easiest and most reliable way to reach the venue.

Train Access

  • Royal Park Station (Upfield Line)
    Approx. 2-minute walk to the State Netball & Hockey Centre
    Closest and most convenient option

  • Parkville Station (Metro Tunnel)
    Access to the Melbourne University precinct


Tram Access

  • Route 58 – Stops 23 & 24
    Direct access to the venue (Kabaddi)

  • Route 19 – Stop 16 (Royal Parade)
    Access to Soccer and Kabaddi

  • Route 19 – Stop 12 (Royal Parade)
    Melbourne University access

  • Route 59 – Flemington Rd / Gatehouse St
    Approximately 5-minute walk to the venue


Travelling by Train (By Area)

From North (Craigieburn, Upfield, Mernda, Hurstbridge)

  • Take the Upfield Line to Royal Park Station (best option)

  • Or travel to Melbourne Central, then take Tram 19 to Royal Parade

From East (Belgrave, Lilydale, Glen Waverley, Alamein)

  • Train to Melbourne Central or Parliament, then Tram 19 or 59

From South (Frankston, Sandringham, Cranbourne, Pakenham)

  • Train to Flinders Street, walk to Elizabeth Street, then Tram 19 or 59

From West (Werribee, Williamstown, Sunbury)

  • Train to Southern Cross or Flagstaff, then Tram 19 or 59

  • Or change at North Melbourne to the Upfield Line and get off at Royal Park

  • No public parking is available at the State Netball & Hockey Centre
    Parking is reserved for access pass holders only

  • A drop-off zone is available at the front of the venue

  • Faraday Street, Grattan Street
